 Memudahkan Siswa Belajar dari Rumah

Tahun 2020 ini merupakan tahun yang penuh tantangan bagi guru dan tenaga pendidik diseluruh dunia, tidak terkecuali di Indonesia. Delapan bulan sejak pemerintah mengumumkan kasus pertama virus corona di Indonesia pada Bulan Maret lalu. Masa darurat pandemik Covid-19 menjadi suatu sejarah tersendiri bagi pendidikan dinegara ini. Semenjak saat itu, siswa mendadak dirumahkan untuk belajar dengan di rumah saja. Dinamika dunia pendidikan membuat siswa angkatan tahun terakhir lulus tanpa melalui ujian nasional.

Empat bulan sudah berlalu semenjak awal Tahun Ajaran baru 2020-2021, dimana siswa belajar dari rumah dengan mengikuti program pembelajaran jarak jauh. Berbagai upaya sekolah telah dilakukan sesuai dengan anjuran pemerintah untuk mencegah penularan COVID-19 terhadap siswa, guru, dan keluarganya di rumah. Begitu masuk Bulan Juli 2020, sekolah mengadakan In-House Training. Kegiatan tersebut adalah pelatihan yang diadakan oleh pihak sekolah dalam rangka mempersiapkan guru menghadapi PJJ yang merupakan hal baru untuk semua guru. Kami mendapatkan pemahaman dan praktik merencanakan rancangan pelaksaan pembelajaran (RPP) khusus untuk masa belajar dari rumah. RPP tersebut memuat tujuan pembelajaran, lingkup materi yang akan diajarkan, langkah-langkah pembelajaran dengan model sinkronus atau asinkronus sesuai kondisi, berikut dengan penilaiannya.

Berselang dua minggu dari kegiatan pelatihan, seluruh rancangan pembelajaran selesai dibuat. Rancangan tersebut dibuat hanya dua lembar untuk setiap kompetensi dasarnya. Saat itu belum ada KI dan KD kurikulum darurat COVID-19. Oleh karena itu, saya masih megikuti kurikulum yang telah dan masih dipakai selama Bulan Juli. Saya mengajar mata pelajaran Bahasa Inggris Peminatan untuk dua jenjang, yaitu kelas X dan XI. Untuk kelas X, saya mengajarkan materi formulir isian (forms) tentang jati diri dan kelas XI adalah tentang materi memberikan dan menawarkan saran (suggestions).

Pada Bulan Juli, kelas yang saya ajar berjumlah tujuh kelas yaitu kelas X IPS 2,3,4, XI IPA 1,6, dan XI IPS 1&2. Disamping menjadi guru mata pelajaran, saya juga diamanahi menjadi wali kelas untuk kelas X IPS 3. Segera setelah pembagian tugas mengajar dan wali kelas diberikan, saya membuat grup WhatsApp (WA) wali kelas dan siswa X IPS 3 serta grup orang tua walinya. Selain itu, saya meminta kepada KM setiap kelas agar dimasukan ke WA grup belajarnya. Total ada sembilan grup WA yang saya ikuti untuk berkomunikasi bersama siswa, orang tua, dan guru-guru lainya. Setiap guru masuk ke kelas PJJ pada grup WA yang dibuat oleh KM sesuai kelas yang ditentukan. Guru yang masuk ke kelas dimana semua siswa sudah menunggu didalamnya, bukan siswa yang masuk ke grup mata pelajaran. Kami tidak membuat grup WA untuk setiap mata pelajaran. Bayangkan, bagaimana siswa dapat mengikuti pembelajaran karena apabila seperti itu akan ada 16 grup mata pelajaran untuk setiap siswa. Hal ini juga merupakan upaya untuk memanusiakan hubungan dan memahami konsep pembelajaran jarak jauh dengan baik.

Sekolah membuat jadwal BDR edisi Juli untuk Hari Senin hingga Jumat yang dimulai dari pukul 08.00 hingga 13.15 pada saat itu. Desainnya adalah guru masuk ke kelas BDR sesuai jadwal yang ditentukan dengan durasi 45 menit untuk setiap pelajarannya. Apabila ada empat mata pelajaran, maka siswa belajar bersama empat guru yang berbeda setiap harinya. Setelah masuk ke seluruh grup belajar di WA, saya mulai menyapa siswa sesuai jadwal belajar yang ditetapkan. Memulai kelas dengan tulisan ketik, Assalamualaikum, Good morning students, How is your life today? Sebagai ungkapan salam dan sapaan kepada siswa. Anak-anak pun menjawab salam, Waalaikumsalam, Good morning, Mr.Mu. Setelah menanyakan kabar siswa, saya mengajak siswa untuk berdoa sesuai dengan ajaran agama masing-masing.

Kegiatan awalan berlangsung hanya beberapa menit. Setelah menyapa, kegiatan inti langkah pembelajaran adalah menggunakan aplikasi google meet. Aplikasi tersebut dipergunakan untuk tatap maya dengan sejumlah siswa yang belajar jarak jauh bersama yang memudahkan dengan hanya satu kali klik pada tautan (link) yang dibagikan oleh guru. Saya membagikan linknya pada aplikasi WhatsApp, diskusi satu kelas pada google meet. Sebelumnya, saya sudah menyiapkan power point untuk presentasi sesuai daftar materi yang disampaikan. Untuk daftar hadir, siswa mengisi pada google form yang saya sediakan sehingga siswa dapat mengisi sendiri. Proses pembelajaran berlangsung selama 45 menit yang terdiri dari penjelasan, diskusi, dan menjawab soal, mengerjakan tugas dan siswa dapat memberikan respon melalui google classroom.

Sebagai penutup, sesekali saya meminta tanggapan siswa tentang pembelajaran hari ini dengan menulis pada jurnal belajar yang ditulis di buku, terkadang dapat pula diberikan pada grup WhatsApp dimana kami berkomunikasi. Kelas ditutup dengan ungkapan, Thank you for today, I wish you always in good condition both physical and mental, Wassalamualaikum, Have a nice day.

Berbagai cara dan langkah pembelajaran dilakukan agar siswa bisa menerima hak mereka dalam belajar. Berbagai materi untuk mempermudah siswa dalam belajar juga terus dilakukan. Selama Bulan Juli, siswa belajar materi utama Bahasa Inggris sesuai KD yang ada. Siswa belajar dengan beberapa aplikasi google form (untuk daftar hadir), google meet (berdiskusi tatap maya), google classroom (kelas diskusi dan penugasan), dengan WhatsApp sebagai perantara komunikasinya. Grup WA dipilih dikarenakan sebagian besar siswa sanggup mengikuti kelas daring di aplikasi ini.

Bulan Agustus selanjutnya, rilis kurikulum masa darurat covid yang dimana kompetensi dasar disederhanakan. Guru pun dituntut untuk bisa memudahkan proses belajar dengan KD darurat tersebut yang dimana tidak ada tuntutan mengejar target dari kurikulum sebelumnya. Saya bersama guru-guru Bahasa Inggris mengikuti musyawarah guru mata pelajaran tingkat sekolah yang dipimpin oleh Ms. Badriah, guru berpengalaman dibidang perencanaan pembelajaran atau RPP. Saat itu kami sepakat untuk berkolaborasi antara guru Bahasa Inggris Umum dan Peminatan. Hasilnya adalah pada Bulan Agustus ada proyek pembuatan teks naskah pidato Bahasa Inggris dan pidato lisan yang dibuat oleh siswa dan untuk siswa dengan proyek akhirnya adalah video speech diunggah pada Instagram dengan tagar #sman2cianjurspeech.

Selama Bulan Agustus, dua guru Bahasa Inggris berkolaborasi untuk setiap kelas yang diajar di semua jenjang kelas X,XI, dan XII. Siswa pun terbantu lebih mudah sebab waktu yang diberikan adalah satu bulan lamanya, dengan satu proyek untuk dua guru mata pelajaran sekaligus. Secara otomatis, ini menjadi satu solusi dimana memberdayakan konteks adalah suatu kemudahan. Proyek berikutnya adalah Caption selama Bulan September, diberikan materi, contoh, hingga siswa dapat membuat sendiri. Pada Bulan Oktober, siswa mempelajari materi Bahasa Inggris melalui Blogspot yang dirancang oleh guru. Setelah empat bulan, kami menyadari bahwa rintangan selalu ada, namun guru harus selalu memikirkan apa yang terbaik untuk siswa. Semoga praktik baik pembelajaran jarak jauh ini menjadi inspirasi kebaikan pembelajaran lainnya.

    Thank you for the English class. I have been learning about English for 4 months such as suggestions, speeches, captions, poetry and many more. Little by little I understood what speech, suggestion, caption, poetry and so on, I came to know what the difference between speech, poetry and so on in Indonesia and abroad. English is actually easy if we study and focus on the material and exercises provided. I sometimes feel lazy but I am trying my best to be better. In the future, I will write and speak more English so that it is useful.

    Thank you so much for 4 months of English classes. I learned a lot about English for 4 months such as advice, speeches, texts, poetry and many other materials.

    And mr said English is easy and it is true, if we study with a focus on the material and practice seriously.

    I am at home sometimes feeling bored, happy, sad and lazy while studying online but I have to try to be better.

    In the future I will study more and actively write and always speak because it will be very useful for me.

    Dear Mr. MU,

    Thank you for English class. I have learned about English for 4 months such as suggestions, speeches, captions, poetry, procedure text, caption text, and many more. I had learned a lot in this English lesson, from material supplied to training problems, and I had come to know that there were some things in the Indonesian language lesson but also differences in them. So I've been learning English little by little. Learning English can be fun and easy when you study it seriously and focus. But I sometimes felt things, sometimes there was confusion, and sometimes there was laziness, because language was impeded. But I was also happy when I learned this English, so I gained a lot of knowledge that might be useful in the future. In the future I hope to speak English better, from what I have learned in the present.

Little by little I understood what were sayings, suggestions, captions, poetry and so on, both at home and abroad. English is actually easy for us to do, it's just that we are lazy in ourselves, if I study with a focus on the material and the exercises provided maybe it could be better I sometimes feel shy but I try my best to be better.     •I get a lot of knowledge from all the material that has been studied. More than that, almost all of the materials that you gave us weren't only material, but also directly practiced in our daily lives.

    •I have felt all kinds of feelings, especially during this pandemic we are all required to learn online. Sometimes this all feels very boring and even annoying. but you change the learning to feel more relaxed and fun.

    •I will always do my best because I want to be able to master English lessons and I want to be more than that xixiii.
